The R-100 Automatic Robotic Stacker by SORSYS revolutionizes the handling of thermoformed products, seamlessly integrating with thermoforming machines to automate the transfer of products onto a conveyor system. This innovative solution is designed to either stack products for further processing or direct them towards a labeling station, enhancing efficiency and flexibility in production lines. Equipped with a six-axis robot and specialized end-of-arm tooling, the R-100 adeptly follows and secures a group of freshly thermoformed parts, still connected to the web, ensuring a smooth transition from formation to conveyor. Utilizing multiple vacuum cups, the system maintains a firm grip on the parts until they reach the stripping point, where they are precisely released from the web and placed onto the conveyor. The parts can then be organized into stacks or aligned in one to three rows, catering to specific production requirements. Critical to the R-100’s operation is the synchronization of the robot’s speed with the thermoforming machine’s output. This is achieved by monitoring the encoder data from the machine’s output roller, providing real-time feedback to the robot for flawless coordination.

R-200 Vision Guided Robotic Feeder – Precision Placement Unlocked

Key Futures:

Vision-Guided Accuracy: A camera mounted above the shaker table relays orientation data to the robot, ensuring each pick is precise.

Optimized Vibration Patterns: The shaker table’s calculated vibrations arrange parts into the ideal orientation for pickup, enhancing efficiency and reducing cycle time.

4-Axis Scara Robot: Specialized in swift and accurate movements, this robot reliably picks and positions parts onto an indexing table.

Prepared for Diecasting: The indexing table precisely aligns the blades, prepping them for seamless transfer by a 6-axis robot into the diecasting mold.

Vacuum End-of-Arm Tooling: Utilizes a vacuum mechanism for a secure grip on the blades, ensuring stability and precision during transfer.

Ultra-Precise Nesting: Designed to place parts within a nest that allows a mere 0.05mm clearance, exemplifying the precision-engineered capabilities of the R-200.

High-Precision Custom Automation for MIM Components

This custom automation project highlights SORSYS’s expertise in delivering precise, fully integrated robotic systems for advanced part handling, machining, and inspection. Designed specifically for high-precision MIM (Metal Injection Molding) components, the solution combines robotics, CNC machining, and advanced vision inspection—all engineered and built in-house by the SORSYS team.

Process Overview:
• A 6-axis robot initiates the process by picking MIM parts from a vibratory inline track feeder and loading them into a CNC machine.
• CNC machining reams a critical hole to remove excess MIM material.
• The robot then unloads the part and sends it through a blow-off station to eliminate coolant residue.
• A high-accuracy vision inspection system evaluates hole placement relative to two curved profile features, with a tight ±3-micron tolerance.
• A precision fixture ensures each part is presented perpendicular to the vision system for repeatable accuracy.
• A second camera inspects a 0.5 mm oil hole using a custom cylindrical backlight, detecting even the smallest blockages.
• Based on the inspection, parts are automatically sorted into good or reject bins.
• The fully automated cycle completes in just 30 seconds.

Key Features:

Fully automated robotic handling and inspection
Precision CNC integration for MIM component machining
±3 micron tolerance vision inspection
Custom vision system with dual-camera setup and backlighting
High-speed part sorting with 30-second cycle time
Built entirely in-house by the SORSYS engineering team
